Underglaze Transfers
Firing Temperature: Cone 04 - 11 (1060°C - 1315°C)
Storage: For optimal shelf life (3 - 6 months), store your transfers in a sealed bag and avoid sun light.
Application:
Can be applied on bisqueware or damp, leather hard or bone dry greenware with slightly varying results. For best results, apply transfer on damp greenware and flat surfaces but can be applied to a variety of shapes by cutting the sheets into strips or smaller tiles and then applying them.
Cutting out the desired size you wish to use.
Place the transfer face down on the clay or bisque and using a wet brush or sponge, lightly stroke the back of the transfer, starting from the centre going outwards, wetting the entire area keeping the transfer still. Leave in place for a couple of minutes before gently peeling the sheet off, starting from a corner.
If the transfer is incomplete, lower the transfer back down and repeat the step above.
The pattern should remain on the clay surface.
Once dried, underglaze and/or 3D Trailing glaze may be used over the pattern.
Difficulty: Greenware - Easy
Bisqueware - Medium
